Google Reverts to Post-Katrina Imagery

As an update to a previous entry: the AP reported today that Google has changed its satellite imagery of the New Orleans area to show the hurricane damage caused by Katrina. Critics attacked Google last week for displaying images of an undamaged city.

The company said last week that those images were of better resolution than the post-hurricane photos, and in a blog post Monday Google’s director of satellite imagery, John Hanke, said it was not an “effort on our part to rewrite history.”
